It has been a very long and rocky road getting here but it looks like it is here, the final testnet.

What are we testing:

Development fee and ramping collateral smartnodes.

Additional LLMNQ parameters that will commence PoSe banning of unreachable nodes at a significantly lower threshold.

Single command dip3 compliant smartnode deployments.

Foundation layer for time-locked transactions.

But you have tested some of these things before?

Yes, however, only as individual components not all roped into on “production level” packaging.

I was hoping to see futures right at the start of main-net.

So were we, however introducing them is a soft-fork not a hard-fork and having a fully working and established LLMNQ with chainlocks is a must for deploying this kind of potential high value contract. The horror scenario we want to avoid is one of these being sent then undone again in a 51% attack prior to quorum establishment. Yes we do have 51% attack protection and all that good stuff but not prior to us having enough nodes online (10).

Several members of the team have not been shy about commenting on multiple aspects of the security of other teams, exchanges etc we feel it’s prudent to take all reasonable measures, including this one to ensure user safety.

I hear rumors about incentives for running nodes on the TestNet?

Correct the testnet will will run over 2 ten day cycles to qualify for incentives in the the first 10 day cycle you will need to have you node up and in the form By Saturday the 30th The second 10 day cycle starts on Friday the 5th of February.

NODES THAT PARTICIPATE IN BOTH CYCLES WILL RECEIVE AN ADDITIONAL IOU TOKEN AT THE END OF THE SECOND STAGE!

Here is the form to register with:

For this net, we are working with the following collaterals:

Block 0 > 2000 = 5000 RTM
Block 2000 > 3320 = 6000 RTM
Block 3320 > 5760 = 7000 RTM
Block 5760 > 7207 = 8000 RTM
Block 7207 > 264720 = 9000 RTM
Block 264720 > 308720 = 10000 RTM
Block 308720 > 352720 = 11500 RTM
Block 352720 > 396720 = 13000 RTM
Block 396720 > 440720 = 14500 RTM
Block 440720 > 448720 = 16000 RTM
Block 448720 > 528720 = 17500 RTM
